Omar shows where his priorities are

Well, Omar has once again added fuel to the fire that is often speculated about. That fire is the fact that he has eyes only for Latin players.

How else do you explain his signing of Torrealba over Lo Duca? He didn't even make any offers to Lo Duca. Not even a 1 year deal for $1 million was offered. Why would he weaken the team and overpay for a part time player? Torrealba has never even caught more than 110 games in a season. I read that they expect Castro to catch 60+ games this year. Are they Crazy? If he needs to catch more than twice a week, he gets hurt. Torrealba is just what the team needs. Another quiet, uninspiring, light hitting, Spanish speaking mouse. I've always heard about the fiery Latin blood, but I've yet to see any of it from any of the Mets players. Omar must go and look for the timid bootlickers and not the fiery in your face leaders. I'm truly starting to believe Sheffield was right. He said that GM's love Latin players because they can be intimidated and threatened with deportation.

The next thing we'll see is Omar signing Contreras or Livan Hernandez to some multi-year contracts. Just what the team needs also. Two more worn out pitchers that no one knows the true age of. For someone who's job is on the line this year, Omar sure is making some curious decisions so far. If this season goes in the tank, at least Witless Willie and Omar the Latin loving Idiot will be gone.
