The same ump that couldn't call balls and strikes correctly earlier in this series, just called out Shawn Green due to Marlon Anderson's boneheaded play. Sliding hard into 2nd to break up the double play is good. Trying to lay a shoulder block to the 2nd baseman 5 feet away from the bag is not good. That intensity is needed more often, but it has to be done within the rules.
I'm sick of this whole series. The Mets just wasted away their week and probably the season. Instead of burying the Phillies, they now have to worry about getting thru the week in first place. Games like this will only inspire the Phillies and Braves. With Cincy playing better now too, the Mets are in BIG TIME TROUBLE. It's weeks and seasons like this that make it so hard to be a Mets fan.
Because of the day game tomorrow, I'll have to wait until after the game to comment and the historic collapse of the Mets.
