Well Guinness, have you calmed down yet? I swear the Mets should never play another Sunday night game on ESPN. Everytime they play, they lose. Maine was ok, but onceagain the victim of sloppy fielding. I was impressed with his velocity, and his stamina. I don't know if anyone realizes it, but Maine has Asthma. So for himto throw 110+ pitches and still be throwing in the mid 90's is a good sign ofhis strength. Too bad he can't get a few more misses.
Wright is now the club leader in RBI and continues to get on base. It would be niceto see Beltran be able to have a prolonged hot streak. But somehow that never seemsto happen.
Conine is not the answer at 1st, but Delgadud needs to sit sometime. Unfortunately Conine's play helped lead to a lose. That is why the Mets need to get a young slugging 1st baseman, or start converting Gotay to that job. If they resign Castillo,Gotay needs somewhere to play. He also needs to work on hitting from the right side. That isn't is natual side. DiFelice has been great. Hitting and catching. I've been saying that he shouldstay when Pauly comes back to the club. Alomar is not as good at the plate, although his defense is as good as Mike's. I doubt Castro makes any of the throws that Mike or Sandy made this weekend. Castro can hit, sometimes, but his defense is solelylacking this year.
I'm hoping for the Mets to take 3 out of 4 against Philly, and then somehow figure out a way to beat the Braves. Regardless of Witless Willie's comments, the Mets do have to beat the Braves.
